Senior React & AI Developer (100% Remote)

Role Overview

Senior React & AI Engineer to lead the front-end design, architecture, and development of a brand-new, green-field AI-augmented web application (100% remote, long-term ~5-year federal project). You will build a lightning-fast Single Page Application (SPA) that combines complex enterprise form workflows with LLM-based AI orchestration.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build a robust, scalable SPA using Vite, with real-time AI streaming (Server-Sent Events) for a responsive user experience.
• Design UI/UX patterns for AI-assisted workflows, ensuring non-deterministic AI outputs are handled with precision and strong performance.
• Implement RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) interfaces with grounded citations.
• Create AI-assisted “Smart Form” capabilities using LLMs for natural-language parsing, field suggestions, and intelligent draft generation.
• Build and manage large-scale, high-field forms (up to ~60 fields per form; references to large payloads such as 120-field JSON) with zero input lag using optimized React Hook Form patterns.
• Implement schema-based validation with Zod, including syncing validation schemas with backend Java/Spring Boot OpenAPI specifications.
• Manage client-side routing and form steppers with preserved progress using React Router.
• Architect a data-fetching and state layer with TanStack Query for auto-save, draft persistence, and optimistic UI updates.
• Integrate secure authentication using OIDC/OAuth2 Authorization Code Flow with PKCE, including safe JWT handling in the browser.
• Collaborate with the Java/Spring Boot backend team to contract-first define/consume REST APIs and ensure frontend/backend payload efficiency.

Requirements

• Senior-level React experience with SPA architecture and performance-focused UI development.
• Experience integrating LLM/AI orchestration patterns into a web frontend (e.g., AI streaming, RAG UI components, AI-assisted workflows).
• Strong form engineering with React Hook Form and Zod.
• Ability to implement secure OIDC/OAuth2 patterns (Authorization Code Flow with PKCE).
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or green card holder and have lived in the U.S. continuously for more than 5 years (no H1B/H4).
• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust security clearance.

Preferred / Nice-to-have

• Experience working alongside Java/Spring Boot teams using OpenAPI.
• Familiarity with Vercel AI SDK and/or LangChain.js for AI orchestration.
• Experience with modern styling/UI libraries such as Tailwind CSS + Headless UI/Shadcn and/or Material UI.
