Role Overview

Senior Quality Engineer (Remote, Porto Alegre)

LawnStarter is scaling its platform and engineering team across new service verticals, dynamic pricing, and AI-powered features. This role makes quality proactive by owning automation coverage, shaping the bug process, and partnering with Product, Design, and Data to catch issues before they reach customers.

Responsibilities

• Own automation coverage strategy
  • Design and expand E2E and integration test suites using Cypress
  • Set strategy, prioritize coverage gaps, and raise the quality floor across the platform
• Shape and run the bug process
  • Own lifecycle from triage to production fix
  • Keep stakeholders informed and ensure issues don’t fall through the cracks
• Cross-functional quality partnership
  • Collaborate with PMs, Designers, and Data to review requirements, surface risks early, and define what “done” means
• Process improvement
  • Identify weaknesses in delivery/quality process and implement improvements (not just document)
• Exploratory testing
  • Test new features and existing flows on web and mobile across devices, catching what automation misses

Requirements

• Hands-on ability to design and grow automated E2E/integration tests with Cypress
• Strong ownership mindset for quality: strategy, prioritization, and continuous improvement
• Experience partnering with product/design teams to translate requirements into actionable quality criteria
• Ability to run a reliable triage-to-fix workflow

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working on web + mobile products and understanding device/browser coverage
• Curiosity and experience using AI tools to improve quality operations and testing workflows
• Familiarity with marketplace/domain edge cases and proactive risk anticipation

• Automation coverage remains strong as the product evolves
• Bug process from triage to fix runs predictably with clear stakeholder visibility
• Demonstrated deep understanding of the business to anticipate edge cases
• At least one meaningful, shipped improvement to the quality/delivery process
