Senior Quality Engineer (Florianópolis)

Role: Senior Quality Engineer (Florianópolis)

Remote role for candidates located in Florianópolis, Brazil. You will help make quality proactive as LawnStarter scales to new service verticals and grows its engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Automation ownership (strategy + growth):
  • Design and grow the E2E and integration test suite using Cypress
  • Define strategy, prioritize coverage gaps, and raise the baseline across the platform
• Bug process ownership:
  • Own the full lifecycle from triage to production fix
  • Keep stakeholders informed and ensure issues don’t fall through the cracks
• Cross-functional quality partnership:
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, and Data to surface risks early
  • Help define what “done” means for delivered work
• Process improvement (with authority):
  • Identify weaknesses in the quality/delivery process and implement fixes
• Exploratory testing:
  • Test new features and existing flows on web and mobile across devices

What you’ll focus on

• Keeping E2E/integration automation coverage strong as the product evolves
• Exploring smarter coverage approaches and new automation ideas
• Investigating AI-enabled quality operations and using AI tools to reduce repetitive work and uncover coverage gaps

Requirements / Expectations

• Strong ownership mindset for automation strategy, not just test execution
• Ability to lead and improve the bug and quality processes end-to-end
• Cross-functional communication skills to work effectively with engineering, PMs, designers, and data
• Experience/comfort testing web and mobile flows across devices

Success criteria (Year 1)

• Automated coverage remains strong as new features ship with tests as a baseline
• Triage-to-fix cycle is predictable and stakeholders are continuously informed
• You develop deep marketplace understanding to anticipate edge cases
• You deliver at least one meaningful improvement to how quality is executed
