Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

Role Overview

Senior Quality Assurance Engineer (US, fully remote). You will define and execute the quality strategy for an enterprise-grade software platform, combining technical leadership with hands-on test engineering. The role focuses on building scalable automation frameworks, validating business-critical functionality, and championing quality across the SDLC.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks for end-to-end, API, and integration testing using Playwright.
• Use AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code) to accelerate test creation and improve coverage.
• Perform advanced manual and exploratory testing for complex features, workflows, integrations, and edge cases.
• Create comprehensive testing strategies for functional, regression, integration, API, and security testing, including quality metrics/KPIs.
• Act as a quality authority: build business/domain expertise, validate requirements, and identify gaps before development starts.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and promote shift-left testing practices.
• Lead defect management (identify, document, prioritize, validate) and collaborate with developers to drive resolution.
• Mentor QA engineers via technical guidance, code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
• Produce and communicate quality reports, dashboards, and risk assessments to technical and business stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement of QA processes, automation standards, and engineering best practices.

Requirements

• 7+ years in QA/Quality Engineering.
• 3+ years hands-on experience designing/developing/maintaining automated testing frameworks.
• Expert Playwright skills for end-to-end, API, and integration automation.
• Hands-on experience using Claude Code (or similar AI-assisted tools) to generate/maintain/optimize tests.
• Strong programming skills in TypeScript or JavaScript.
• Advanced manual/exploratory testing and complex scenario design.
• Experience integrating automation into CI/CD using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins.
• Knowledge of QA methodologies, software architecture, API testing, Git, Jira, JSON/XML, and modern dev practices.
• Ability to lead testing, mentor others, and influence engineering decisions with a quality-first mindset.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
