About the role
Role Overview
Senior QA Engineer (full-time, 40 hours/week) in the USA. You will support daily product releases for both a web application and a Windows native desktop application, combining manual testing with a gradual rollout of automated testing.
Responsibilities
- Perform manual testing for daily web and Windows desktop releases.
- Execute testing using existing test cases and create new test cases as features evolve.
- Identify, document, and track defects, collaborating closely with development.
- Gradually introduce and expand automation coverage:
- Web UI, E2E, and API automation with Playwright
- Windows native application automation using Python-based tools
- Convert manual test cases into automated tests.
- Ensure new features are tested both manually and automatically.
- Maintain and improve overall test coverage, including regression testing and release validation.
Requirements
- Experience in manual testing of web applications.
- Experience in manual testing of Windows native desktop applications.
- Strong knowledge of test case design, test scenarios, and test documentation.
- Experience in test automation or strong interest in it.
- Hands-on with Playwright (or willingness to learn).
- Python knowledge for test automation (e.g., Windows desktop testing).
- Understanding of web technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
- Familiarity with bug tracking and test management tools.
- Strong attention to detail and quality mindset.
- Ability to work with frequent releases and evolving requirements.
Nice To Have
- Experience testing React-based web applications.
- Knowledge of API testing.
- Familiarity with Windows automation tools such as WinAppDriver and Appium (Windows).
- Basic knowledge of TypeScript or JavaScript.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
Work Location / Schedule
- Onsite from the San Francisco office 3 times per week.
