Senior QA Engineer

Role Overview

Senior QA Engineer responsible for owning quality across Retired.com’s platform. You will design and maintain the test infrastructure that helps users buy, sell, and manage digital assets in their retirement accounts without disruption, while influencing architecture and “what done looks like.”

Responsibilities

• Design and execute manual and automated test strategies across web applications, mobile, and back-end services
• Build and maintain automated test suites integrated into the CI/CD pipeline, progressing from manual scenarios to full automation
• Create robust test data and test scenarios that reflect real-world user behavior, edge cases, and business-critical workflows
• Perform root-cause analysis for defects and communicate findings clearly to engineering and stakeholders
• Improve software testability early by partnering with developers and architects before code is written
• Advocate for quality engineering practices and raise the bar for how software is designed, built, and shipped
• Provide QA and testability feedback during architecture/design reviews and contribute to sprint planning and use-case analysis

Requirements

• 3+ years of QA engineering experience in a technology-driven organization with hands-on ownership of both manual and automated testing
• Built automated test suites from the ground up and integrated them into CI/CD
• Deep experience ensuring quality across web, mobile, data, and back-end systems
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field

Nice to Have

• Experience in fintech, financial services, or high-availability platforms
• Familiarity with cryptocurrency trading, digital asset custody, or self-directed retirement products
• Understanding of regulated fintech quality and compliance demands

Tech & Tools

• Test automation frameworks: Cypress, Playwright, Selenium WebDriver, Protractor, TestCafe
• API testing: REST APIs using Postman (or equivalent)
