Senior QA Engineer (Remote)

Role Overview

Senior QA Engineer for a new product squad on a crypto payment platform, working US business hours (Eastern Time). The role is automation-first: build and maintain automated tests on a shared framework, move regression into CI, and complement automation with exploratory and acceptance testing for client-facing releases.

Responsibilities

• Own the test strategy and execution for the squad: acceptance, exploratory, and regression testing
• Write and maintain automated UI and API tests on a shared test framework
• Own and prioritize the automation backlog; shift routine regression into CI to prevent manual release blocking
• Review product requirements and acceptance criteria with Product and Engineering; provide feedback before development starts
• Verify client-facing releases by running acceptance testing before they reach customers
• Communicate with stakeholders and third-party vendors about ongoing product issues
• Maintain QA documentation and reports, including release testing and escaped defects reporting

Requirements

• 5+ years QA experience on web applications
• Strong experience writing and maintaining automated test scripts for UI, API, or backend tests
• Strong programming skills in TypeScript
• Proficiency with a modern automation framework such as Playwright
• Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines
• Hands-on manual testing: exploratory, regression, smoke, and acceptance testing
• Experience with API testing tools such as Insomnia or Postman
• Ability to write SQL queries for testing and data verification
• Understanding of the test pyramid and automation strategy
• Proficient use of AI tooling for test design/coding with critical review of AI output
• Prior crypto experience is optional, but a working understanding of crypto and stablecoin payment flows is mandatory
• High agency: identify quality risks early and drive them to resolution
• Strong written and verbal communication in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Fintech, payments, or crypto domain experience
• Experience with Jira and TestRail (or similar)
• Experience configuring CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI)
• Experience with Agile/Scrum and shift-left practices

• Reports to: Engineering Manager
• Location: Remote (USA, Argentina, or Brazil), working Eastern Time (US hours)
