About the role

Role Overview

IgniteTech is hiring a Senior QA Engineer to design and execute AI-augmented test strategies. The role focuses on building scalable automation for web applications and using GenAI tools (e.g., OpenAI API, Claude Code, Cursor) to expand coverage and catch edge cases.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end test automation strategy for assigned product areas (framework selection, test design, execution)
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize Selenium-based automation for regression suites running reliably at scale
  • Use GenAI tools to:
    • accelerate test creation
    • analyze logs
    • support exploratory testing
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps
  • Perform root-cause analysis for test failures and production incidents; provide data-backed recommendations
  • Define and report quality KPIs (e.g., coverage, defect density, MTTD/MTTR-like metrics) via dashboards
  • Conduct code reviews for QA automation pull requests and enforce coding standards
  • Collaborate with product and engineering to define acceptance criteria and testability requirements early
  • Mentor junior QA engineers on automation architecture and data-driven quality decisions

Requirements

  • 5+ years software QA experience with 3+ years focused on test automation
  • Strong hands-on Selenium WebDriver expertise:
    • Page Object Model
    • waits
    • cross-browser testing
  • Programming skills in Python, Java, or JavaScript for test framework development
  • Demonstrated experience using GenAI tools (OpenAI API, Claude Code, Cursor, or similar)
  • Working knowledge of at least one CI/CD platform: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps
  • Solid data analysis skills (SQL, log parsing, visualization such as Grafana/Tableau)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Comfortable working asynchronously in a remote-first environment

Nice to Have

  • API testing experience (e.g., Postman, REST Assured, Playwright)
  • Performance/load testing tools (JMeter, k6, Locust)
  • Contributions to open-source test automation projects
