Senior QA Engineer

Role Overview

Senior QA Engineer / SDET working on cutting-edge scientific software products (including LUMA). You will drive quality across the engineering lifecycle through strategic test planning, robust automation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Key Missions

• Design and evolve test frameworks and continuously improve quality engineering practices.
• Expand automation coverage and define/execute comprehensive test strategies and plans.
• Build and maintain scalable automated test suites for web-based scientific applications.
• Identify risks and validate complex functionality in partnership with developers, application scientists, and DevOps.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end complex test initiatives and quality strategy.
• Develop scalable automation architecture (e.g., Page Object Model patterns) and automation tooling.
• Interpret API documentation to create high-quality automated test coverage.
• Produce clear, maintainable documentation for test frameworks, tools, and QA processes.
• Support quality for releases by validating data integrity during upgrades, migrations, or schema changes.

Requirements

• 6+ years of QA/testing experience, including at least 4 years focused on automation.
• Strong ability to work autonomously with a methodical, detail-oriented approach.
• Expertise with Cypress (custom commands, advanced debugging, plugin integration, Shadow DOM handling, React testing).
• Strong TypeScript skills (interfaces, generics, async programming) to build robust and maintainable test code.
• Proven test case design and documentation skills (comprehensive, reusable scenarios).
• Deep knowledge of Git (workflows, branch management) and collaboration using Jira (or similar).
• Experience building and executing performance tests using K6 (or similar load testing tools).
• Understanding of data integrity validation strategies for release upgrades, data migrations, and schema changes.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience extending scalable Page Object Models and advanced automation patterns for large web apps.
