Senior QA Automation Engineer (Remote)

Senior QA Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated testing solutions for web applications, APIs, web services, and databases. This is a 12-month contract with possible extension, targeting July 2026.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Object-Oriented Ruby, Cucumber, and Cypress
• Enhance and extend existing test automation frameworks
• Execute automated and manual test cases across the software development lifecycle
• Analyze test results and communicate findings to project stakeholders
• Identify, document, track, and validate defects through resolution
• Create and maintain test plans, test cases, and test data
• Provide test execution metrics, defect reporting, and project status updates
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and project teams to ensure product quality
• Drive QA process improvements, standards, and best practices
• Mentor junior QA engineers and provide technical guidance

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in API testing
• Strong experience with:
  • Ruby
  • Cucumber
  • Cypress
  • API testing
  • Test automation framework development
  • Jira and Confluence
• Experience testing:
  • Web applications
  • Web services/APIs
  • Databases
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and defect management
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills

Preferred

• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing integration
• Experience leading QA initiatives and mentoring team members
