Senior Python Engineer

Role Overview

Join PatientPoint® as a Senior Python Engineer to help build and maintain a next-generation unified platform. You’ll work on robust backend systems and APIs deployed on AWS, using Python 3 and modern cloud-native architecture to solve complex problems at scale.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs deployed in AWS
• Develop high-performance solutions using modern software design principles
• Contribute to architecture discussions and implement clean, reusable solutions across services
• Ensure stability, performance, and scalability of core platform services and APIs
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (planning, retrospectives, story grooming)
• Perform code reviews, provide technical feedback, and improve code quality continuously
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, DevOps, and Security
• Mentor peers and junior engineers through knowledge sharing and thoughtful collaboration
• Use AI-based development tools to build high-quality, high-performance AdTech products

Requirements

• 6+ years backend software engineering experience building enterprise-grade applications
• 4+ years building scalable, high-performance, high-availability microservices
• 4+ years designing cloud-native architectures and implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• 4+ years working with relational databases and writing optimized SQL
• 2+ years frontend experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and frameworks such as React or Angular
• Advanced proficiency in Python 3 (coding assessment required)

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with observability and performance monitoring tools (e.g., New Relic, Sentry)
• Elasticsearch experience (or other cloud-native search technologies)
• Containerization/orchestration experience: Docker, Amazon ECS, Kubernetes
• Cloud security concepts: OAuth2, JWT, HMAC, encryption/hashing, secret management
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional partners (Product/DevOps/Security)
• Knowledge of digital advertising ecosystems and platforms (e.g., Google Ad Manager, DV360, Kevel, Sizmek)
• Familiarity with healthcare compliance (e.g., HIPAA/PHI)
• Experience building with a focus on customer feedback and iterative improvement

Location / Travel

• Remote with travel requirements of 4–5 weeks per year
