About the role

Role Overview

Senior Python Engineer (Data Distribution) within Dimensional’s Technology Department. You will help manage and evolve the enterprise investment data warehouse powering Research, Portfolio Management, Trading, and Analytics.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, document, and test scalable application services for a data platform.
Expand and optimize data and data pipeline architecture.
Build investment data technology solutions for Research, Portfolio Management, Trading, Analytics, and Reporting.
Implement changes across the pipeline lifecycle: ingestion, validation/quality control, integration, storage, management, and delivery.
Build high-performance, scalable data-transfer toolsets that move datasets between endpoints within SLAs.
Ensure data consistency, refresh rates, and caching while keeping data current across interfaces.
Develop and enhance CI/CD pipelines and supportable solutions.
Write unit/integration tests and detailed documentation; contribute to the engineering wiki.
Participate in code/design reviews and provide technical troubleshooting/support for production systems.
Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, and project managers to translate needs into user stories, estimates, and work plans.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in engineering/math/computer science or equivalent experience.
4–5+ years programming experience in Python (open source) or equivalent.
Proficiency building RESTful APIs and web services.
4–5+ years SQL experience.
Track record using SOLID principles and Domain Driven Design.
Experience with high-performance, high-availability data applications; strong performance optimization/tuning.
Ability to write unit-tested, maintainable code and work with automated acceptance testing.
Strong understanding of cybersecurity risks; ability to design/build secure applications.
