Senior Python Developer

Role Overview

Senior Python Developer (US-based) to design, develop, and optimize enterprise-grade software solutions. The role blends hands-on engineering with architectural thinking to deliver reliable, scalable, high-performing systems for complex, data-driven business operations.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and improve complex software systems with reliability, scalability, and performance in production.
• Build and enhance enterprise-grade Python applications, data-intensive services, and automation platforms.
• Create secure, scalable systems that operate reliably in distributed production environments.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions in collaboration with product, data, and infrastructure teams.
• Participate across the full SDLC: requirements analysis, architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
• Apply strong engineering principles and coding standards; contribute to clean code and engineering excellence.
• Diagnose and resolve complex production issues by identifying root causes and implementing long-term fixes.
• Design and optimize database interactions (query performance improvements and schema enhancements).
• Implement automated testing, CI/CD practices, application resiliency patterns, and secure development approaches.
• Contribute to architecture decisions and team technical improvements.
• Manage multiple priorities and communicate clearly with technical and business stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of professional Python development in enterprise environments.
• Experience building and supporting large-scale production applications with high reliability/uptime requirements.
• Strong relational database knowledge (Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Sybase), including query optimization and schema design.
• Solid software architecture and system design knowledge across the full SDLC.
• Hands-on experience with automated testing, debugging, and operational support.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and performance optimization/trade-offs.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex enterprise applications in production.
• Familiarity with Agile, CI/CD workflows, secure coding practices, and resiliency patterns.
• Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical teams.

Nice to Have

• UNIX/Linux experience, shell scripting, and command-line tooling.
