Senior Project Manager / Scrum Master with Healthcare domain and Appeals and Grievances

Role Overview

Senior Project Manager / Scrum Master leading complex projects while applying Agile/Scrum practices to ensure on-time delivery, within scope, and aligned with business objectives. This is a hybrid PM + Scrum Master role with a mandatory healthcare Appeals and Grievances domain background.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

• Build and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets
• Define scope, objectives, and deliverables aligned to business goals
• Manage resources, vendors, and procurement activities
• Track progress, manage risks, and resolve escalated issues
• Provide regular stakeholder updates/status reports
• Ensure quality standards and regulatory compliance
• Oversee project closure, including documentation and lessons learned

Scrum Master Duties

• Facilitate Agile ceremonies: daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
• Coach teams and stakeholders on Agile principles and Scrum practices
• Remove impediments and protect the team from external distractions
• Support the Product Owner with backlog grooming and prioritization
• Track/report Agile metrics such as velocity, burndown charts, and cycle time
• Promote self-organization and accountability
• Encourage collaboration and communication in distributed/remote settings
• Drive continuous improvement and process best practices while adapting to organizational needs

Requirements

• 7+ years of project management experience
• 3+ years working in Agile/Scrum environments
• PMP and/or CSM required (SAFe or PMI-ACP a plus)
• Proficiency with project tools: MS Project, Jira, Confluence
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Degree in Business/IT or related field (Bachelor’s; Master’s preferred)

Healthcare Domain Requirements (Mandatory)

• Exclusive experience in Healthcare Appeals and Grievances
• Familiarity with healthcare IT systems, clinical workflows, or payer/provider solutions
• Healthcare compliance standards like HIPAA and HL7 is a plus
