About the role
Role overview
Senior Product Owner – Credit and AR on Ferguson’s Boundary Applications team. Own the product strategy, vision, and roadmap for systems supporting Ferguson’s Credit and Accounts Receivable functions, which are critical to customer onboarding, credit risk management, invoicing, collections, cash application, and financial accuracy.
The role sits at the intersection of technology, finance, and operations, partnering closely with Credit, AR, Finance, and Accounting stakeholders to deliver solutions that improve efficiency, reduce risk, and optimize cash flow.
Responsibilities
- Define product vision and strategy
- Determine stakeholder needs by specifying required research to obtain market information
- Run competitive analysis, market validation, and customer/product research to uncover insights and market opportunities
- Own and communicate a detailed product roadmap
- Use qualitative and quantitative research to drive value and prioritize the roadmap
- Identify and prioritize opportunities to improve operational efficiency and business outcomes
- Partner with Finance and Accounting to define, document, and prioritize requirements
- Communicate roadmap and change impacts clearly to business leaders; align changes with company goals
- Coordinate with Project Management to ensure delivery is on time and properly scoped
- Coordinate alignment across delivery teams, stakeholders, and leadership throughout the software development lifecycle
- Monitor product health using analytics and stakeholder feedback; provide ongoing commentary to leadership
- Promote a collaborative, high-performance environment and support hiring/training/succession planning aligned with Ferguson’s diversity commitment
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Business, or equivalent experience
- 2–5 years of Product Management experience (posting truncates after this point)
Location / work model
- Remote within the United States OR Hybrid for associates in Newport News, VA (per company policy)
