Senior Product Owner - Claims Adjudication

Role Overview

The Senior Product Owner owns and communicates the product vision and roadmap for Agile delivery teams supporting the end-to-end claims adjudication lifecycle. You will define and prioritize work, translate business needs into user stories, and ensure delivered solutions meet business, compliance, and operational outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Represent the voice of the business (operations, members, providers, associates) in product decisions.
• Define problems, opportunities, and desired outcomes to improve accuracy, efficiency, compliance, and experience.
• Own and prioritize the product backlog based on business value, customer impact, and strategic goals.
• Translate business needs into user stories with measurable acceptance criteria.
• Partner with delivery teams and subject-matter experts to provide context, clarify requirements, and ensure stories achieve intended outcomes.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and provide timely guidance/decisions in dynamic environments.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Claims, Operations, Compliance, and other Product Owners to coordinate cross-teamwork.
• Validate delivered solutions to ensure they address the right claims-process problems and support compliance and future-ready capabilities.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience in product ownership and/or project management.
• Experience with Agile development processes and tools.
• Ability/willingness to support Eastern Standard Time (EST) business hours.

Work-At-Home Requirements

• Recommended internet: 25 Mbps download / 10 Mbps upload (wireless/wired/DSL suggested). Satellite/cellular/microwave only if approved by leadership.
• Bi-weekly internet expense payment for qualifying home-based associates in CA, IL, MT, or SD.
• Humana provides appropriate phone equipment for Home/Hybrid associates.

Preferred Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree.
• Experience with health insurance claims systems, operational processes, or industry standards.
• Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) experience, including SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager certification.
