Senior Product Owner - Claims Adjudication

Role Overview

The Senior Product Owner is responsible for communicating the product vision and roadmap to an Agile delivery team by defining user stories and prioritizing the product backlog. The role drives solutions that improve the end-to-end claims adjudication lifecycle while partnering with Product Management, business stakeholders, and delivery teams.

Responsibilities

• Represent the voice of business and operations (including members, providers, and associates) in product decisions.
• Define problems, opportunities, and desired outcomes to improve accuracy, efficiency, compliance, and experience.
• Own and prioritize the team backlog based on business value, customer impact, and strategic goals.
• Translate business needs into clearly defined user stories with measurable acceptance criteria.
• Partner with delivery teams and subject-matter experts to provide business context and clarify requirements.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and provide timely guidance and decision-making in dynamic environments.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Claims, Operations, Compliance, and other Product Owners to coordinate cross-team work.
• Validate delivered solutions to ensure they address the right claims-process problems and support compliance and future-ready solutions.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in product ownership and/or project management.
• Experience with Agile development processes and tools.
• Ability to support Eastern Standard Time (EST) business hours.
• Work-at-home internet requirements (recommended): 25 Mbps download / 10 Mbps upload; wired/wireless/DSL connection suggested.
• Satellite/cellular/microwave only if approved by leadership (per posting).

Preferred Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree.
• Experience with health insurance claims systems, operational processes, or industry standards.
• Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) experience, including SAFe® Product Owner/Product Manager certification.
