About the role

Role overview

As a Senior Product Manager for Data Orchestration at Zillow, you will define how applications and AI agents securely and reliably access and compose data and capabilities across Zillow. The role focuses on foundational platform infrastructure: MCP Gateway (secure AI tool invocation) and ZG Graph (GraphQL unified access).

What you’ll own

End-to-end roadmap for MCP Gateway & ZG Graph, including:
- clear problem statements
- success metrics
- platform adoption targets
Unified access model for applications and AI agents across GraphQL, APIs, and AI tool invocation
Data Mesh adoption via domain-driven access patterns, aligned orchestration and domain models, lifecycle contracts, and cross-domain interoperability
Operational excellence bar for orchestration (availability, latency, observability, incident response)
Authentication/authorization and secure access patterns enabling scalable interactions across data, services, and AI tools
Governance models for access orchestration, including lifecycle expectations, versioning standards, and domain ownership clarity
Onboarding “paved paths” and platform primitives that reduce friction while preventing fragmented integrations
Adoption and rollout plans for MCP Gateway and ZG Graph using structured rollouts, enablement, and measurable impact
Continuous improvement using reliability, adoption, and governance metrics to prioritize platform hardening vs. expansion

Key requirements

Experience owning product strategy and execution for platform/infrastructure capabilities with measurable reliability/governance outcomes
Ability to define and operationalize security and access patterns (authentication/authorization)
Ability to establish governance and lifecycle/versioning models across domains
Strong product thinking with a focus on scalability, reliability, and cross-team adoption

Nice-to-haves (implied by scope)

Familiarity with GraphQL, APIs, and AI tool invocation/orchestration patterns
Experience supporting Data Mesh or domain-driven platform models
