Senior Product Manager

Role overview

As a Senior Product Manager (Payments) at Xero, you’ll drive customer and business value by owning new and existing payments products end-to-end. You’ll operate comfortably in ambiguous, complex product spaces and use stakeholder management and experimentation to deliver measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Strategise product vision aligned with Xero’s overall strategy and future objectives
• Drive customer-centricity through customer engagement, research, and insight collection
• Identify problems and frame solutions for testing and iteration, including in complex environments
• Own product line strategy and resourcing, including securing funding and resources
• Lead delivery and launches: roadmaps, release strategies, and effective go-lives
• Manage product risks including security, privacy, and compliance, and lead trade-off decisions
• Monitor and optimise performance using commercial and customer success metrics
• Guide end-to-end lifecycle from launch to sunset while maintaining strategic alignment
• Build product practice and team capability by improving product processes and coaching/training/recruiting

Requirements

• 5+ years of product management experience
• Track record delivering products with significant customer and business impact
• Strong commercial acumen, translating work into financial outcomes
• Ability to go technically deep and engage in engineering design
• Experience executing an API-first strategy and supporting engineering efficiency
• Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data and turn insights into actions
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management, comfortable presenting to senior leadership
• Interest in AI and how it can improve customer outcomes and Xero outcomes
• Growth mindset and passion for learning and innovation

Nice to have

• Experience improving customer workflows and learning through experimentation
• Payments domain familiarity (financial targets and payments outcomes)
