About the role

Role: Senior Product Manager (Technical Focus)

You’ll be the operational backbone for how Spence builds, learns, and ships—turning product strategy into delivered features with strong execution and learning loops.

Responsibilities

  • Sprint operations & agile ceremonies: Run agile ceremonies across time zones with distributed development teams.
  • Execution-first product ownership: Maintain clean backlog and roadmap honesty; write clear tickets so engineers can build the right thing correctly.
  • API translation (partner integrations): Work with integration partners to understand real API behavior and constraints, then translate capabilities into build-ready requirements.
  • Cross-functional partnership: Be Product’s source of truth for Marketing, Sales, Support, and Success.
  • Product artifacts: Create and maintain PRDs, tactical user journey maps, and feature specs.
  • Build–measure–learn: Define feature-level success metrics, use product analytics, and run tight loops to inform the next sprint.
  • UI/UX review & Figma hygiene: Final review of copy/labels/flows and keep Figma organized as a source of truth.
  • Roadmap visibility: Translate sprint reality into exec-ready narratives and maintain self-serve visibility into shipped vs planned work.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years in complex product ownership or technical PM work (fintech/payroll/benefits tech preferred).
  • Proven track record running distributed dev teams.
  • Ability to read API documentation and collaborate effectively with engineers.
  • High precision in regulated environments; strong written communication.
  • Capability to compress sprint-level details into exec-readable signals.
  • Mindset that complexity is the team’s problem to solve.

Nice to have

  • Experience with HSA/FSA/HRA or other reimbursement account products.
  • Experience with HRIS/payroll systems and/or healthcare data.
  • Early-stage mindset with inclination to fail fast and learn.
