About the role
Role Overview
Senior Product Manager (Individual Contributor) focused on Search, Discovery, and User Experience. Own end-to-end outcomes for how customers find products across Dollar General’s digital ecosystem (mobile apps, web experiences, and digital platforms).
What You’ll Own
- End-to-end product ownership for Search & Discovery as a core product domain
- Define and execute product vision, strategy, and roadmaps
- Improve customer discovery through:
- Ranking & relevance
- Query intent
- Semantic search and discovery flows
- Partner closely with Engineering, UX, Analytics, and Data Science
- Write business and technical requirements for backend and frontend teams
- Measure success using search/funnel metrics and experimentation, including:
- CTR, conversion, zero-result rate, and other experimentation outcomes
- Present product strategy, performance, and tradeoffs to senior and executive leadership
- Manage scope, dependencies, and change across cross-functional teams
Required Qualifications
- Direct ownership of Search and/or Discovery as a primary product responsibility (adjunct/supporting/indirect exposure does not qualify)
- 7+ years of product/program management experience in digital products
- Proven experience building, launching, and optimizing Search & Discovery products
- Demonstrated ownership of:
- Search relevance and ranking
- Query intent and discovery experiences
- Strong data-driven product management skills, including analytics and experimentation
- Ability to write clear product/business/technical requirements for engineering teams
- Experience working with multiple cross-functional Scrum teams
- Strong analytical mindset; experience writing simple SQL queries
- Excellent communication and influencing skills with senior stakeholders
- Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment
Strongly Preferred (Nice-to-Haves)
- Experience with AI/ML-powered Search, including:
- Semantic search
- Intent modeling
- Relevance tuning
- Familiarity with LLMs (data collection, pre-/post-training, inference, evaluation)
- Retail/eCommerce/large-scale consumer digital experience
- Experience presenting product strategy to executive audiences
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required (or equivalent professional experience)
