About the role
Role Overview
Senior Product Manager for In-Store Tasks at Instacart. Own the vision, strategy, and execution of the In Store Tasks product, which improves the reliability of fulfillment by enabling in-store intelligence (e.g., inventory and item location signals). This role sits within the Inventory Intelligence team and partners across Shopper and Logistics.
Responsibilities
- Define and deliver the roadmap for Shoppers performing in-store tasks to enable accurate, efficient fulfillment at scale.
- Own data collection experiences for in-store tasks, including:
- How shoppers receive and action tasks
- Efficient collection of data for inventory and store maps
- Monitoring and optimization as the product scales to thousands of stores
- Use deep understanding of shopper workflows and operational pain points to design tools that improve:
- Scanning accuracy
- Speed
- Shopper satisfaction
- Ensure tooling integrates naturally into retailer in-store environments.
- Partner with enterprise sales and retailer success teams to support onboarding, feature adoption, and impact on NPS/retention.
- Define platform solutions that scale across retailer sizes and store formats.
- Represent the in-store task roadmap with internal stakeholders and, when relevant, external partners.
Requirements (Minimum Qualifications)
- 4+ years of product management experience, ideally in operationally complex physical environments.
- Proven ability to build end-to-end products and drive initiatives from early concept through scaled delivery.
- Data-literate with analytical rigor; comfortable prioritizing using data and making tradeoffs under ambiguity.
- Strong communication and influence skills to align cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience defining shopper flows using computer vision (CV) technologies.
- Familiarity with inventory, logistics/fulfillment, and retailer enablement workflows.
