About the role
Role Overview
As a Senior Product Manager II (Risk), you will lead the RiskSquad at Housecall Pro and partner with Risk Operations and Risk Analytics to identify vulnerabilities across the platform. You will work horizontally across 20+ product teams to deliver scalable protections for money movement, accounts, and communications—without adding unnecessary friction for legitimate Pros and their customers.
Responsibilities
- Own or heavily influence the risk roadmap across:
- Payments risk
- Account takeover (ATO)
- Money movement
- Communications abuse/spam
- Partner with engineering squads and Risk Operations to identify and quantify risk, balancing:
- Loss prevention vs. user friction
- Conversion and support burden
- Engineering cost
- Translate operational pain and data insights into shippable product changes and improve tooling/workflows.
- Lead cross-squad initiatives to define, scope, and drive risk protections spanning multiple domains.
- Design scalable risk capabilities such as:
- Signals
- Limits
- Enforcement patterns
- Audit logs
- Policy frameworks (not one-off fixes)
- Drive incident response for emerging fraud/abuse patterns (containment → remediation → retro → durable hardening).
- Evaluate build vs buy and lead vendor/partner assessments when third-party solutions accelerate outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders through clear documentation.
Requirements
- Experience operating as a technical, cross-functional Product Manager focused on risk/fraud/security or adjacent areas (implied by responsibilities).
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity, turn uncertainty into clear plans, and take ownership of risk initiatives.
- Strong data-driven and customer-focused mindset.
