Senior Product Manager

Role: Senior Product Manager

Join Couchbase’s operational data platform for AI. You’ll own a defined capability area within the AI portfolio and partner closely with engineering, sales, marketing, and the broader AI organization.

Responsibilities

• Own product execution for a defined AI capability area within the AI portfolio (end-to-end capability ownership).
• Work backwards from customers to validate product ideas and make enterprise-driven tradeoff decisions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, sales, and marketing to ensure successful launches and adoption.
• Contribute to the AI-driven PM practice (e.g., PRFAQ/PRD-driven planning, customer synthesis, competitive analysis, roadmap modeling).
• Partner with GTM (sales + enablement) and help drive adoption through narrative and launch alignment.

Requirements

• Technical fluency in modern AI infrastructure, including:
  • Vector search and embeddings
  • RAG
  • Agent frameworks
  • Model serving
  • Context engineering
  • Emerging interoperability standards
• Hands-on frontier-model experience (preferred): APIs, code-generation tools, MCP, agent frameworks, and modern developer ecosystems.
• Familiarity with Anthropic Claude stack is strongly preferred.
• Strong shipping record: you personally take products/features from PRFAQ to launch and adoption.
• Engineering credibility: you can discuss architecture, make scope decisions, and own the rationale behind tradeoffs.
• Written communication excellence: PRFAQs and PRDs are central artifacts for team alignment.
• Customer obsession and working-backwards rigor (write PRFAQs before code; separate universal ICP needs from noise).

Experience

• 7+ years in product management, with at least 3 years on a technical platform (database, data infrastructure, developer tools, or AI infrastructure).
• Direct experience building/shipping AI infrastructure capabilities such as vector search, agent memory, RAG pipelines, model serving, or related areas.

Nice to have

• Public presence (blog posts, conference talks, OSS contributions, or analyst-facing work).
• Experience mentoring associate or early-career PMs.
