About the role

Role overview

As a Senior Product Manager on the Cloud Kafka team, you will lead the vision, strategy, and execution for the Kafka Operator experience in Confluent Cloud Kafka. The mission is to simplify deployment, management, and scaling of Confluent Cloud Kafka for enterprise customers.

Responsibilities

Define and own product strategy and vision for the Cloud Kafka Operator
Conduct market research and competitive analysis
Translate strategic objectives into product and user experience requirements
Partner across the product lifecycle with Engineering, UX/UI Design, Documentation, Support, and Field teams
Work with Product Marketing to define and execute go-to-market plans
Drive success of major initiatives from customer development through growth strategy
Serve as a trusted resource across functions to help teams make the right trade-offs and deliver the right product

What you will bring

Minimum 5+ years as a software product manager, ideally for developer products
Strong empathy for enterprise customers and passion for solving their problems
Ability to craft a product strategy and roadmap with customers and cross-functional teams
Excellent communication skills, including explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Strong technical competency in distributed systems, public/private clouds, and stream processing

Nice to have

Experience with data sharing technologies
Engagement with an open-source community
BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related technical field
