Senior Product Designer

Role overview

Senior Product Designer at WelcomeLend, joining a small, senior team of engineers, designers, and founders working alongside capital advisors. You’ll own projects end-to-end and collaborate closely with engineering—no hand-offs—taking work from problem definition through shipping and iteration.

Responsibilities

• Own design projects end to end with engineering: problem definition → design → build/QA → iteration
• Create design systems (not just individual screens)
• Drive architecture and component reuse so features compose into a coherent product
• Collect and synthesize feedback from debt advisors to inform priorities and validate shipped outcomes
• Shape product experiences for AI-powered capabilities, including:
  • lender matching
  • deal analysis
  • outbound intelligence

Requirements (Minimum)

• 5+ years product design experience
• 5+ years cross-functional collaboration with software engineers
• Proven ability to take features from problem statement to shipped product
• Strong systems thinking: designing/maintaining systems, libraries, and tools
• Experience creating complex prototypes using Figma, Framer, Claude, and/or code (or similar tools)
• Strong written communication (async-first environment)

Nice to have

• Experience in early-stage startups with owned outcomes
• Background in fintech/proptech/platforms with complex data and workflows
• Experience building AI-enabled prototypes (e.g., recommendations, matching, synthesis/generation)
• Comfort with ambiguity; ability to create structure without over-engineering

• Users are primarily internal capital advisors who feel impact quickly

Contract & compensation

• Independent contractor role
• Annualized pay range (US, all locations): $150,000–$225,000 based on experience and skills
