About the role
Role Overview
Senior Product Designer at Weedmaps, responsible for identifying, evaluating, and improving critical user journeys. The role blends user-centered design with quantitative and qualitative insights to create world-class experiences for web and mobile.
Responsibilities
- Champion design thinking and collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Data, Research, Engineering, and other teams.
- Align design decisions with business goals while crafting user-centered experiences.
- Break down complex problems into actionable solutions.
- Maintain, guide, and extend the design system.
- Prototype and test interactions and user experiences objectively.
- Use qualitative and quantitative data/analytics to inform design decisions.
- Participate in group critiques by giving and receiving constructive feedback.
- Partner with research and product teams to support discovery and usability studies.
- Create and deliver design artifacts such as:
- Information architecture diagrams
- User flows, user stories, and use cases
- Research plans
- Wireframes and high-fidelity mock-ups
- Interactive prototypes
- Documentation and other supporting materials
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in end-to-end product design.
- Strong portfolio with clear examples of human-centered design and your specific contributions.
- Ability to lead or work independently on medium-to-large projects.
- Experience designing and conducting usability tests.
- Experience using analytics for data-driven decision-making.
- Experience working with design systems.
- Meaningful experience with B2C eCommerce and/or B2B SaaS (preferred).
Bonus / Nice to Have
- Strong communication skills and accountability/self-management.
- Experience and interest in design thinking and design sprints.
- Knowledge of front-end coding concepts (HTML5/CSS/JavaScript).
- Passion for the cannabis industry.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base pay range: $130,386 – $163,606 per year.
- Full-time benefits include medical/dental/vision with employer-paid premiums, 401(k) match (up to 3.5%), HSA contribution, PTO/paid sick leave, and additional voluntary and supplemental benefits.
