Senior Product Designer

Role overview

Join Mysten Labs’ small, high-impact design team as a Senior Product Designer. You’ll own the end-to-end design lifecycle—from user research through interaction and visual design to production-ready specifications—across both consumer and developer products.

Responsibilities

• Own the full design lifecycle, from user research to interaction design and visual design.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and other designers to align priorities and deliver high-quality products.
• Advocate for users by grounding design decisions in research and data.
• Contribute to and evolve design systems, ensuring consistency across a rapidly expanding product surface.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of product design experience with a portfolio showing end-to-end ownership of shipped products (ideally across consumer and platform/tools).
• Strong design systems experience (building and/or contributing) for multiple product surfaces.
• Excellent prototyping instincts, favoring interactive prototypes over static mocks when appropriate.
• Figma fluency, including component architecture, auto-layout, and variables for design system work.
• Clear, direct communication and ability to explain design rationale to engineers and executives.
• Strong visual design sensibility (typography, color, spacing, motion) paired with rigorous interaction thinking.
• Comfort operating in ambiguity and excitement for early-stage product work.

Nice-to-haves / Additional focus

• Experience or strong interest in web3, crypto wallets, DeFi, or developer tooling in the blockchain space.
• Active exploration of how AI changes the design process (e.g., ideation, layout generation, code-backed prototyping) with informed opinions on where it’s headed.
• Portfolio/prototypes using AI tools such as Cursor, v0, Bolt, Replit Agent, or similar (personal experiments count).
• Forward-leaning on AI-augmented design tools (explicitly emphasized as non-negotiable).
