About the role

Role: Senior Product Designer

Join a multidisciplinary design team at Mixpanel and partner closely with product and engineering to shape what gets built and why. You’ll own design end-to-end for your team with a strategic north-star focus—then research, refine, and iterate until the work truly improves customer outcomes.

What you’ll work on

Designing for a future where Mixpanel’s data platform becomes programmable for agents and developers
Helping users understand, govern, and trust their data (e.g., metadata management, data quality, sensitive data controls)
Building developer and agent-facing interfaces that make powerful data APIs intuitive and accessible
Creating experiences that enable less technical users to confidently use complex, high-stakes platform features

Responsibilities

Own design end-to-end (from early vision through shipped, polished product) with minimal oversight
Apply a systems mindset: set strategic direction, then execute with precision; align partners throughout
Partner with product and design leadership to connect your work to the broader product vision and roadmap
Design user interfaces, flows, and prototypes for complex problems
Drive and participate in user research to ground decisions in real needs
Mentor designers and raise the quality bar through feedback and example
Facilitate team activities such as critiques, brainstorms, and workshops
Actively use AI tools in your workflow and help shape how the team adopts them over time

Requirements

4+ years designing digital products as an individual contributor
Portfolio demonstrating strategic thinking and high craft (how you work matters)
Strong depth in at least two design disciplines (e.g., interaction, visual, prototyping, systems design, research)
Experience with business and/or developer-focused products (data/analytics/developer tools preferred)
Systems mindset to manage both big picture and detailed execution
Excellent communication and presentation skills; can articulate tradeoffs
Curiosity and active experimentation with AI tools

Nice to have

Data visualization or analytics product design experience
Experience with experimentation, feature flagging, or similar
