Senior Product Designer (Foundations)

Role Overview

Join Homebase as a Senior Product Designer (Foundations). You will shape foundational experiences that every user touches—authentication, billing, permissions, and compliance—across iOS, Android, and web. You’ll collaborate closely with a design manager, principal design leadership, a UX engineer, and multiple product managers.

Key Missions

• Evolve the design system by partnering with the Principal Designer (Design Systems) and the UX Engineer.
• Design critical “horizontal” flows for foundational surfaces, including auth, billing, and account management.
• Turn utility/platform experiences into moments that build user trust and reflect the Homebase brand.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end UX for foundational product areas across platforms.
• Communicate design rationale clearly; provide and receive feedback effectively.
• Document decisions to support teammates now and in the future.
• Collaborate with engineers to understand constraints and improve implementation quality.

Requirements

• 4–7 years designing digital products with strong visual and interaction design plus growing systems thinking.
• Strong native mobile (iOS and/or Android) experience with high craft quality (not just adapting web patterns).
• Platform/infrastructure or “horizontal” product design experience (auth, billing, settings, admin tools) or strong interest in this space.
• Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design.
• Cross-platform design ability across iOS, Android, and web, knowing when to unify vs. honor platform conventions.
• Experience contributing to design systems (components, tokens, documentation, or systems team collaboration).
• Clear communication and ability to document decisions.
• Comfort with context switching across system work, product design, and UI refinement.
• Comfort with or curiosity about front-end technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript.

Nice-to-haves

• Background/exposure to fintech, HR tech, or B2B SaaS with complex permissioning.
• Experience designing for compliance contexts (e.g., SOC 2, GDPR).
• AI fluency in the design workflow (exploration, iteration, production).
• Experience in high-growth startups with “multiple hats.”
