About the role

Role: Senior Product Designer

At Forerunner, you’ll own complex, cross-functional product design work—from defining the problem and success metrics to shipping polished, accessible workflows.

What You’ll Do

  • Discover & Define

    • Partner with PM + Engineering to clarify problems, define scope, and set measurable outcomes even when the roadmap is still evolving.
    • Lead discovery activities: interviews, task analysis, and field/context research.
    • Identify edge cases, constraints, and operational realities; adapt as new information emerges.
  • Design & Deliver

    • Design end-to-end user flows across web and mobile, from low-fidelity to high-fidelity.
    • Prototype quickly, validate with users, and iterate—sometimes across multiple competing directions.
    • Drive implementation with Engineering and run final design reviews before launch.
  • Systematize

    • Contribute to the design system (Figma + component library), creating scalable and accessible patterns.
    • Decide when to build new patterns vs. reuse existing ones.
    • Document rationale and decisions to help teams move faster as priorities shift.
  • Collaborate & Influence

    • Build strong relationships with PM, Engineering, and Customer Success.
    • Facilitate alignment in ambiguity and help the team decide what to build.
    • Communicate clearly and share compelling product stories.
    • Provide feedback to help raise the design quality bar across teams.

What You Bring (Requirements)

  • Led complex product design projects from early discovery through launch; influenced product direction.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating systems thinking, crisp UX, and the ability to simplify complex workflows.
  • Depth in user research and product judgment, including problem framing, validation, and tying design to measurable outcomes.
  • Proficiency with Figma and Claude Code workflows.
  • Experience building and evolving design systems; comfortable prototyping at multiple fidelity levels.
  • Clear communication skills and ability to tell product stories and align stakeholders.

Nice-to-Haves / Emphasis

  • Ability to make good decisions with incomplete information and thrive in an early-stage environment with shifting priorities.
