About the role
Role Overview
Senior Product Designer (Fixed-Term) at Rewiring America’s Conductor program. You will design the end-to-end digital and service experience for subsidized home energy upgrades (e.g., heat pumps, solar, batteries) at scale. This is a 0→1 product opportunity with a rapid path to market.
What You’ll Do
- Own the end-to-end design of the combined digital + service experience
- Produce user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity prototypes to build the product from scratch
- Understand user needs and run scrappy user testing throughout development
- Identify opportunities for delight and turn them into signature product/service features
- Contribute to a nascent design system
- Collaborate with product, engineering, marketing, support, and operations to clarify and improve program design
- Use AI tools to accelerate design work
- Lead post-launch iteration using usage data and user feedback
- Operate independently in a small, entrepreneurial team and step in as needed
Launch Context
- First platform launch supports ~500 installations (heat pump, heat pump water heater, battery) in a major metro area by end of 2026
- Program is greenlit by a utility and funded by a hyperscaler; there’s a path to national expansion
Requirements / Qualifications
- 6–8+ years experience as a Product/UX Designer with a strong portfolio across digital and service design
- Experience owning the design process from concept through launch
- Experience with service design methodologies (e.g., journey mapping) across multi-channel experiences
Nice-to-Haves
- Strong ability to work in ambiguity, move quickly, and build from the ground up in a small team
- Demonstrated cross-functional partnership translating customer needs into scalable experiences
