About the role
Role overview
As a Senior Product Designer (Desktop App), you will lead end-to-end design for Clio’s new native desktop app. You’ll partner closely with Product and Engineering, grounding decisions in customer understanding while driving measurable business outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Lead the full design process for the desktop app: discovery → opportunity framing → design through development → launch → iteration
- Define and execute experience design strategy with Product and Engineering
- Establish and track success metrics; use research and insights to prioritize what matters
- Apply native platform conventions to deliver experiences that feel at home on Windows and macOS (not a web wrapper)
Requirements
- 6+ years of product design experience
- Strong craft across:
- Interaction design
- Information architecture
- Usability
- Visual design
- Proven track record of shipping high-quality work that improves customer problems and product metrics
- Strong customer-centric mindset and ability to translate insight into actionable direction
- Demonstrated experience designing native desktop applications for Windows and/or macOS, including interaction patterns and desktop vs. web differences
- Excellent collaboration (low-ego partner, alignment, trade-off facilitation) and presentation/communication skills
- Strong capability with design/prototyping tools and practical use of AI tools in the workflow
Nice-to-haves
- B2B SaaS experience (preferred)
- Experience designing AI-powered features/workflows and applying machine learning/generative AI in user-centered ways
