Senior Product Designer, Core Experience

Role Overview

BetterSleep is seeking a Senior Product Designer to own the design of the Core App experience. This is a strategic, execution-focused role shaping the foundational product flows that drive discovery, habit-building, and conversion to long-term subscribers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design vision for the BetterSleep core app experience with close partnership across Product and Engineering.
• Design high-quality end-to-end user experiences that stay consistent, intuitive, and emotionally resonant across the customer journey.
• Own and evolve key product surfaces including:
  • Core navigation
  • Feature discovery and engagement
  • Clinical screening and referral flows integrated into the consumer app
  • Other activation moments that impact trial-to-paid conversion and retention
• Craft and direct UX copy and microcopy (feature titling, education, navigation) aligned to brand voice.
• Design for localization (e.g., text expansion, RTL considerations) for 6+ supported languages.
• Collaborate with Engineers, Product Managers, and Designers to:
  • solve user problems
  • navigate technical constraints
  • scale product experiences
• Use data, experimentation results, and human behavior insights to improve conversion, retention, and engagement.
• Design personalization and adaptive experiences, including flows that respond to users’ sleep goals, behaviors, and future AI-driven capabilities.
• Participate in user research and competitive analysis to inform product direction.
• Actively participate in agile processes and ceremonies.
• Recommend improvements to process and tooling to management.
• Ensure compliance with Android and Apple platform guidelines, staying current on changes.

• Strong craft across:
  • Interaction design
  • Visual design
  • UX writing
• Excited to work on personalization, feature adoption, and connected care pathways.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience shaping experimentation and experimentation-informed product iteration (onboarding, subscriptions/pricing, content).
• Familiarity with designing for mobile platform constraints and localization (RTL/text expansion).
