Senior Product Designer, Consumer

Role Overview

Senior Product Designer for Reddit Consumer UX. This is a remote-friendly role focused on turning messy business goals into clear product strategy and roadmap direction. You will lead cross-functional squads with both strategic thinking and strong technical craft, acting as a co-architect of the product roadmap—not just a pixel pusher.

Focus Areas (choose one)

• Growth: Define discovery and engagement mechanics, including top-of-funnel acquisition, conversion to Reddit apps, and long-term retention.
• Youth and Compliance: Design safety guardrails for teens and ensure compliance with global privacy/safety regulations while crafting tailored experiences.

Responsibilities

• Navigate ambiguity: Transform vague/complex problems into clear scopes and design strategies.
• Prototype to de-risk: Use code-based prototyping tools (e.g., Cursor) to test edge cases and validate designs with functional prototypes using real data.
• Tell the story: Synthesize complex data and user behaviors into high-fidelity narratives for executive leadership.
• Iterate fast: Operate in a high-velocity environment with rapid A/B testing and iterative delivery.
• Raise the bar: Maintain high-quality Figma artifacts and thoughtful interactions that set standards for the design organization.

Requirements

• 5+ years product design experience, ideally in high-scale consumer tech, safety, or growth-driven environments.
• Technical prototyping skills: Proficient at prototyping via code to understand how designs behave with real data.
• Strategic systems thinking: Ability to reframe business/legal asks into coherent, human-centered systems and influence roadmap priorities.

Nice-to-Haves / Expectations

• Comfortable using AI coding tools (e.g., Cursor) to build functional prototypes.
• Experience working with executive stakeholders through data-driven storytelling.
