Role overview
As a Senior Product Designer at Check, you will untangle complex payroll systems and translate sophisticated workflows into intuitive, visually polished product experiences in Check Console—helping transform operational payroll software into delightful user experiences.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end design of major enhancements in Check Console (from problem framing to shipped experience)
- Translate complex payroll systems into intuitive UX, influencing interaction models and product architecture
- Partner with engineering and product leadership to design workflows and product surfaces that simplify payroll operations
- Identify and drive improvements by rethinking existing product patterns to make Console more intuitive and efficient
- Conduct user research, including direct conversations with payroll operators and platform partners
- Elevate visual and interaction design across product surfaces for cohesion and clarity
- Prototype and iterate quickly, incorporating feedback from users and cross-functional teams
Requirements
- Strong ability to understand and model complex systems/workflows into elegant product experiences
- Experience translating operator/user insights into core product patterns
- Ability to collaborate closely with engineering and product stakeholders
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working in high-stakes, operational, B2B product domains (e.g., finance/payroll/enterprise workflows)
- Comfort covering the full spectrum of strategy, research, UX, and visual design
