About the role

Role overview

As a Senior Product Designer at Bitwarden, you will elevate the user experience of a security product used by millions. You’ll collaborate closely with product designers and product managers to research users, craft solutions, and shape end-to-end product experience—ensuring security feels intuitive and delightful.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze product feedback and market trends; generate, test, and iterate design concepts for new and existing experiences
  • Create user flows, prototypes, and production-ready designs for developer execution
  • Design and prototype user-centric solutions across the platform:
    • Desktop, Web, Browser extension
    • Mobile iOS and Android
  • Conduct and moderate customer/user feedback sessions, surveys, and engagements
  • Facilitate critique sessions with Product Managers across a diverse stakeholder audience
  • Partner across teams to identify opportunities for continuous UX improvement using feedback

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in product design (or equivalent)
  • Strong interaction design and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate design decisions via sketches, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and prototypes
  • Expertise with Figma and familiarity with design/developer tools (listed examples include Claude, ChatGPT, v0, Adobe XD, GitHub, and other generative tools)
  • Experience planning and running comprehensive user research and testing cycles
  • Familiarity with prompt writing for AI tools
  • Technical design expertise: understanding front-end engineering practices, system design, and systems thinking
  • Ability to influence leadership on design direction using data and user feedback
  • Clear communication and collaborative mindset
  • Online portfolio demonstrating UX artifacts and critical thinking

  • Experience designing for both B2C and B2B customers
  • Experience designing for iOS and Android
  • Familiarity with WCAG guidelines
  • Front-end development experience
  • Cross-platform design experience
  • Interest in open source and better internet security
