About the role
Role overview
Join Alchemy as a Senior Product Designer to shape an AI-native product. You’ll work at the intersection of product design, product thinking, and front-end engineering, balancing hands-on building with strong design partnership.
Responsibilities
- Build production-quality prototypes (and ship front-end code when needed) to validate the UX direction quickly.
- Own and evolve Alchemy’s design system: create and maintain reusable components, interaction primitives, models, and supporting documentation.
- Collaborate closely with product engineers to reduce rework and make the path from prototype to implementation smoother.
Requirements
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity with high ownership; able to move fast.
- Systems-minded builder: shipped and maintained component libraries/design systems (tokens, components, documentation, adoption).
- Clear cross-disciplinary communication: translate design intent into technical constraints.
- Strong prototyping skills: prototype quickly while maintaining craft, choosing appropriate fidelity.
- Designer fundamentals: strong eye for hierarchy, spacing, typography, interaction details, and visual polish.
- Front-end fundamentals and ability to build interactive UI (e.g., React + TypeScript or equivalent).
Nice to have
- Accessibility fluency.
- Experience with Storybook (or similar).
- Motion/animation experience.
- Experience scaling design systems across multiple product surfaces.
