About the role
Role Overview
Senior Product Designer (craft-led senior individual contributor) to own the 9amHealth consumer app, the daily touchpoint for people managing diabetes, blood pressure, cholesterol, and weight. The role spans end-to-end design of member experiences and includes thoughtful consideration of clinically safe, low-shame engagement.
Responsibilities
- Own the companion app end-to-end: flows, surfaces, interaction patterns, and visual system; ensure craft and shipped quality.
- Design the daily engagement loop: activation funnels, onboarding flows, empty/sparse states, and re-engagement mechanics.
- Prototype rapidly: move from idea to working prototype quickly using the tooling that fits.
- Use modern design practice (AI-assisted tools as appropriate) and apply judgment on when outputs are worth keeping.
- Stay close to members: run research to understand what works, where drop-offs occur, and which journey moments matter most.
- Build and maintain the design system used by the product squad.
- Collaborate with clinical stakeholders (clinicians/coaches/care coordinators using the EMR) so consumer-side decisions improve clinician workload.
- Make and document hard tradeoffs among member clarity, clinician workload, and business economics.
Requirements
- Leads with craft and backs it with product/UX strategy.
- Has owned a consumer product end-to-end.
Nice-to-haves / Additional Context
- Experience designing for sensitive clinical contexts (avoiding pressure/shame while maintaining engagement).
- Ability to think across the consumer app ↔ EMR/workflows seam and understand downstream care-team implications.
