Senior Product Counsel

Role Overview

Figma is hiring a Senior Product Counsel to join its Product Legal team. You will serve as a primary legal partner to Product, Design, and Engineering (PDE) teams, guiding them through novel and complex legal questions as product releases accelerate.

Responsibilities

• Partner directly with Product, Design, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to provide practical legal guidance on product development and go-to-market strategy
• Review product user experiences, disclosures, and external marketing/communications to mitigate legal risk
• Work with Legal counterparts (e.g., Commercial, IP, Regulatory) to ensure a cohesive strategy
• Advise on legal matters related to data protection, privacy, consumer protection, IP, and AI-specific laws and regulations
• Develop scalable legal guidance processes, resources, and tooling to support fast-moving releases
• Identify and communicate emerging legal risks early in the product development cycle to enable faster, more confident decisions

Requirements

• 8+ years of legal experience and a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school (or foreign equivalent)
• U.S.-qualified to practice
• In-depth experience counseling on legal issues involving technology, IP, privacy, data protection, consumer protection, and AI
• Proven ownership mindset (hands-on engagement with product details, process-building, independent prioritization)
• Business-first, solution-oriented approach; comfortable making independent decisions with imperfect information
• Demonstrated interest in AI, including experience advising on AI-powered products/platforms

• In-house experience at a SaaS company
• Familiarity with and advising on ML/AI products
• Technical background

Work Model

• Full-time role based in one of Figma’s US hubs or remotely within the United States.
