About the role
Role overview
As a Senior Product & Brand Designer at Dispel, you will design across both the product and the brand/web surface, working end-to-end from prototypes to shipped experiences. You’ll partner with senior leadership, PMs, and engineers, and drive design improvements with an emphasis on accessibility and shipping.
Key missions / responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end design across key product surfaces: admin dashboard, native applications, and core platform workflows
- Build, not just mock: create prototypes and ship explorations that engineers can pick up and run
- Use AI to generate working prototypes and to test ideas in real code
- Drive accessibility improvements toward WCAG-aligned patterns and inclusive design
- Work across the full brand and web surface:
- Produce pixel-perfect brand assets
- Contribute to and maintain brand libraries
Requirements
- Comfort reading and writing code with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React (designers expected to code, not only inspect)
- Strong bias toward shipping (iterate quickly rather than perfecting privately)
- Motion/video capability: working knowledge of motion design and short-form video editing
- Build interactive assets in Rive (or similar) and create micro-animations
- 8+ years of design experience with demonstrated senior range across both product and brand/web
- Portfolio shows depth across multiple axes (not just strong in one area)
- Builder mentality: ship websites/prototypes/product features end-to-end
- Ability to work within design systems established by others (extend via proposals/critique, avoid unnecessary forks)
- Depth across multiple product surfaces and brand surfaces
- Relentless attention to detail (spacing, alignment, hierarchy, production quality)
- Strong communication and collaboration in a remote-first environment
- Proficiency with Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and a modern CMS (Framer, HubSpot, or similar)
- AI fluency as table stakes (daily use of tools like Claude/ChatGPT/Cursor/Figma AI/Midjourney/v0)
- Ability to explain which tools to use, when, and why; opinions on prompts/workflows
- Shipped substantial production code on a real product or marketing site, including React/Next.js/Tailwind (or similar)
Nice-to-haves / additional experience
- Built custom AI tooling (e.g., GPTs, agents, prompt pipelines, Cursor rules, Figma plugins, Rive workflows)
- Working knowledge of shader/creative coding tools (e.g., Three.js, Paper.js, GLSL)
- Experience with high-security / compliance-sensitive infrastructure platforms
- Background modernizing legacy products through systematic design evolution
- Experience with complex event/experiential design (booths, installations)
- Side project/indie product/personal site demonstrating what you build
- Familiarity with OT/ICS environments or industrial contexts
