About the role

Role Overview

Senior Principal Software Engineer focused on SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) and AI/ML. You will provide technical leadership, drive end-to-end delivery, and help shape network security architecture for scalable cloud security solutions.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership for end-to-end delivery of solutions, aligned with Product Management and Quality Assurance.
Design, implement, and troubleshoot robust next-generation cloud security solutions for complex network security challenges.
Drive scalable cloud security architecture through hands-on coding and architectural planning.
Build and evolve backend services (REST APIs), databases, and serverless components for distributed cloud applications.
Develop high-performance, high-scale distributed systems and microservices for cloud deployments.
Create and maintain data/analytics pipelines and streaming components (e.g., Dataflow/stream processing and messaging systems).

Requirements

10+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
Strong backend development expertise: REST APIs, databases, serverless/distributed cloud applications.
Deep knowledge of big data and streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka, Dataflow, SQL).
5+ years hands-on programming in Python or Java; additional proficiency in Go.
Experience with test-driven development (TDD).
Familiarity with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum).
Mastery of the full SDLC: coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, peer review, and operations.
Proficiency with cloud platforms such as GCP (preferred) and/or AWS.
Experience with message queuing and stream processing (Kafka, Pub/Sub) and data storage/analytics (BigQuery/SQL/Bigtable/Redis).
Experience with Kubernetes and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD.
Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking principles.

Nice-to-haves / Additional Signals

AI-first mindset and experience using AI tools (e.g., Claude, Gemini).
Experience with build tools (Gradle, Maven) and build management.
Experience with global network infrastructure, load balancing, and microservice deployment considerations.
