About the role

Role Overview

Senior Power Platform Engineer (Fully Remote)

You will support and grow an internal citizen developer community while delivering advanced Power Platform solutions in the EPA environment. The role emphasizes governance, scalability, technical troubleshooting, and ongoing education for end users.

Responsibilities

  • Act as an ambassador for an established citizen developer community to drive innovation and adoption.
  • Learn and adapt to new Low-Code / No-Code platforms as they are deployed into the EPA environment.
  • Support users and troubleshoot complex issues across:
    • Power Automate Flows
    • Power Apps (including Dataverse-based solutions)
    • Dataverse
    • Power BI
    • Other Microsoft 365 services
  • Monitor Power Platform environment growth and usage trends; provide governance and scalability recommendations.
  • Provide advanced technical support for complex PowerApps and Dynamics issues, including incidents and escalations.
  • Stay current with Microsoft Power Platform and M365 changes; educate users on new features and shortcuts.
  • Support and maintain Power BI environments (gateway configuration, workspace organization, access control).
  • Collaborate with IT Security, Infrastructure, and Business teams to meet organizational and compliance standards (e.g., FedRAMP, NIST).

Requirements

  • High school diploma with 10+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • 10+ years of software development experience in a collaborative Agile environment.
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence.
  • Strong team collaboration, client communication, and customer service mindset.
  • 10+ years of Microsoft 365 experience including:
    • Power Platform administration, governance, and solution design
    • Power Apps (canvas and model-driven apps)
    • Power Automate
    • Power BI
    • Deploying/customizing Dynamics 365 CRM modules using Power Platform components
    • Integrating Power Apps with external data sources (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, Azure services, REST APIs)
    • Designing role-based security models in Dataverse and connected systems
    • Designing custom connectors; using HTTP actions in Power Automate; error management
    • Understanding SharePoint Online architecture (lists, document libraries, integration with Power Platform)
    • Experience with Azure Active Directory for access control (security groups/roles)
    • Familiarity with environment strategies and ALM (Application Lifecycle Management) using Power Platform solutions
  • Solid documentation skills (solution design documents, technical architecture diagrams, end-user guides).
  • Understanding of data loss prevention (DLP), tenant-level governance, and compliance.

Nice to Have

  • Experience managing Power Platform Center of Excellence (CoE) Starter Kit.
  • PowerShell scripting for M365 and Power Platform administration.
  • DevOps/source control experience (GitHub or Azure DevOps) and CI/CD pipelines for Power Platform.

Clearance

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust suitability.
