Senior Platform Engineer

Role overview

Senior Platform Engineer at Profitmind, focused on building and operating the platform via Infrastructure as Code and automation across multiple clouds. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role central to expanding cloud regions (including EU) and strengthening security and compliance (SOC 2).

Responsibilities

• Own infrastructure as code: design and operate multi-cloud infrastructure with Terraform across Azure, AWS, and GCP (landing zones, networking, IAM) and bring externally managed resources/templates under internal automated ownership.
• Run GitOps delivery: build and maintain CI/CD and GitOps pipelines (e.g., Argo, GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps) to deploy services reliably to non-prod and prod.
• Own the release process: define and run a disciplined SDLC/release flow (versioning/tagging, promoting builds through environments, and tracking deployments).
• Ensure auditability/traceability: maintain end-to-end traceability from commit → build → deployment and link changes to Jira work for SOC 2 and customer due diligence.
• Operate Kubernetes: manage Kubernetes clusters (including AKS), autoscaling, workload deployment, and platform/operational services.
• Enable EU and multi-region: stand up EU-resident infrastructure and additional regions ensuring data residency, networking, and access controls are correct by design.
• Drive SOC 2 and security: implement org-wide security controls, vulnerability scanning, and access governance across clouds, GitHub, and Kubernetes, producing required evidence for SOC 2.
• Build platform tooling: develop platform services and internal developer tooling (e.g., in Python) such as self-service environments, automation, cost monitoring, and reusable building blocks.
• Support the data platform: partner with data engineering on infrastructure for data pipelines and customer-cloud deployments (including SFTP and direct warehouse reads) to keep the platform portable and reliable.
• Build secure integrations: evolve integrations beyond SFTP toward direct warehouse reads (push/pull), including authentication, authorization, secrets, and key management.
• Own observability and cost: run observability (metrics/logs/traces/alerting) and monitor cloud spend and egress to drive optimization.
• Unblock teams: manage access/permissions and environment requests end-to-end with fast turnaround.

Requirements

• Strong experience delivering infrastructure and automation (not a ticket-driven DevOps role).
• Deep hands-on capability with Terraform for multi-cloud infrastructure.
• Experience implementing GitOps/CI/CD pipelines and a disciplined release process with audit traceability.
• Proven ability to operate Kubernetes (including AKS).
• Experience with security controls and compliance evidence aligned to SOC 2.
• Ability to build or extend platform tooling and developer enablement utilities.

• Experience expanding/standardizing EU data residency and multi-region cloud footprints.
• Experience integrating with customer systems and data ingestion flows (e.g., SFTP and direct warehouse reads).
• Experience with observability and cloud cost/egress optimization.
