Senior Platform Engineer (DevOps)

Role Overview

Senior Platform Engineer (DevOps) joining FINN’s small Platform team to scale infrastructure across multiple markets. This is a hands-on, high-impact role owning cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, and security tooling—architecting, building, and operating production systems (not maintaining dashboards).

Responsibilities

• Own and operate cloud infrastructure (compute, networking, identity, security controls) using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
• Manage container orchestration: cluster upgrades, deployment management, and autoscaling
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines: automated testing, deployment automation, and quality gates
• Drive observability: monitoring, alerting, logging, and tracing across services
• Harden security posture: cloud security posture management, automated scanning in CI, access policies, network security, and support for security certifications
• Operate multi-cloud infrastructure across multiple cloud providers
• Operate messaging/event infrastructure for event-driven architectures, including retries and dead-letter queue management
• Standardize market launches with repeatable infrastructure provisioning so new markets can launch in days
• Support engineering teams with infrastructure expertise and self-service tooling
• Participate in on-call rotation: respond to incidents and drive root-cause analysis and prevention

Requirements (Must-Have)

• 5+ years in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering
• Strong cloud infrastructure expertise (compute, networking, identity, queuing, monitoring, storage, databases) with AWS primarily
• Kubernetes production operations (cluster operations, debugging, resource management)
• Terraform at scale (writing/reviewing IaC with proper state management and modularization)
• CI/CD pipeline design (deployment automation, testing integration; blue-green and canary)
• Linux systems administration (debugging at the OS level)
• Monitoring and observability (alerting, log aggregation, incident response)
• Security mindset (access control, network security, secrets management)
• Clear communication skills with non-infra engineers
• Ability to work ≥40h/week with decent overlap with UTC+8 (Singapore time) and reliable internet/hardware

Nice-to-Have

• Multi-cloud experience (e.g., GCP/Firebase alongside AWS)
• GitOps (e.g., ArgoCD)
• Event streaming operations (e.g., Kafka)
• Compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2, or similar)
• Cost optimization while maintaining reliability
