About the role

Role Overview

Join Defense Unicorns as a Senior Platform Engineer. You will design and own persistent, always-on environments and the integration layers across the company’s UDS platform, working closely with product and UX teams to enable rapid, real-world validation.

Key Missions

Design and operate always-on product environments for:
- customer demos
- internal use
- stakeholder access
Build feature branch / preview environments to support UX and rapid feedback loops.
Integrate core system components across Fleet Management, Edge Management, OS, and related services.
Ensure systems can be continuously exercised, validated, and experienced under real conditions.

Requirements

Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration across engineering, product, and UX.
Strong experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure-focused software engineering.
Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (e.g., Terraform, Pulumi).
Comfortable working across system boundaries (e.g., application, infrastructure, networking).
Deep familiarity with Kubernetes and container-based systems.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to operate independently in ambiguous environments.
Strong understanding of CI/CD, GitOps, and deployment pipelines.
Proficiency with Linux/Unix systems.
Experience integrating distributed systems across multiple services.
Experience building and operating shared or multi-tenant environments.
