About the role

Role overview

As a Senior Platform Engineer at DealRoom, you will architect a self-service Internal Developer Platform (IDP), evolve the company’s Kubernetes ecosystem, and automate security and compliance workflows. You will work closely with Product and Data teams to streamline the CI/CD pipeline.

Key missions

Architect an IDP enabling teams to deploy and scale with zero-touch infrastructure.
Evolve Kubernetes using GitOps principles to ensure high availability across multiple environments.
Replace legacy manual workflows with automated Policy-as-Code guardrails to enforce security and compliance at scale.

Responsibilities

Extend platform capabilities and automate complex workflows.
Improve CI/CD and infrastructure workflows in collaboration with Product and Data.
Communicate complex infrastructure topics clearly to product developers.

Requirements

Terraform (extensive experience).
Hands-on Kubernetes and cloud-native ecosystem (e.g., Observability, Service Meshes such as Istio/Cilium, GitOps).
Strong coding skills in Go or Python.
Deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
5+ years experience as a platform engineer, DevOps engineer, or similar.
Go expertise for extending Kubernetes via the Operator Pattern and Custom Controllers.
Experience with eBPF-based networking (e.g., Cilium) or Zero-Trust security models.
Experience with Event-Driven Architectures (e.g., Kafka, NATS, or Cloud Pub/Sub).
Strong fundamentals in distributed systems, concurrency, and API design.

Nice to have

Familiarity with Pulumi, Crossplane, or CDKs.

Soft skills

Excellent communication skills to explain complex infrastructure to product developers.
