About the role

Role Overview

Senior Platform Engineer (Storage Services) at dbt Labs. You will help build and scale storage-based infrastructure that powers dbt Cloud across AWS, Azure, and GCP, with an emphasis on automation, self-service, and improving developer velocity.

Responsibilities

Design, operate, and scale storage-based infrastructure systems across multiple tenancy models and public clouds.
Drive projects that refine and scale the storage platform, ensuring performance and reliability.
Improve developer experience through better tooling, processes, and infrastructure design.
Collaborate across teams to solve real infrastructure challenges and shape the future of multi-cloud dbt Cloud.

Requirements

Programming/scripting capability in Python, Go, Rust, or Bash.
Strong communication skills and experience working asynchronously on a fully remote distributed team.
Significant experience designing and operating relational data and object storage platforms in production.
Hands-on experience with one or more cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Infrastructure as Code (preferably Terraform).
Experience operating infrastructure across multiple clouds.
Experience building or running multi-tenant storage platforms at scale.
Deep expertise in two or more of: PostgreSQL, OpenSearch, Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ.
