Senior Platform Engineer

Role Overview

Senior Platform Engineer to architect, design, develop, and maintain the Bridgeway platform powering software development and deployment. You’ll blend software engineering, systems architecture, and operations to deliver scalable, resilient, and efficient cloud infrastructure—using a DevOps/DevSecOps/SRE approach.

Responsibilities

• Iteratively design and build scalable, resilient, and efficient platform solutions using cloud services and modern design frameworks.
• Create modular, reusable infrastructure using Terraform and related tooling.
• Strengthen DevOps practices through automation and cross-functional collaboration.
• Architect, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines at scale.
• Deliver platform solutions using event-driven and software design patterns (object-oriented and functional).
• Own monitoring and logging to ensure reliability and performance.
• Define and maintain platform lifecycle processes for updates, patches, and security compliance.
• Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure issues, analyze performance, and implement optimizations.
• Plan and execute infrastructure scaling for business growth.
• Apply security-first practices to meet SOC, SOC2, HIPAA, NIST and other regulatory requirements.
• Implement and manage IAM, firewalls, and SIEM solutions.
• Integrate diverse/non-traditional systems to deliver practical outcomes.
• Lead assigned projects and drive cross-team execution and accountability.
• Write clean, well-documented code and follow established development standards.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to maintain platform reliability.
• Use generative AI tools (e.g., Claude, Copilot) to streamline workflows and improve delivery.

Requirements

• 5+ years of platform, cloud, or SRE engineering experience.
• Advanced cloud knowledge, specifically AWS and Azure.
• Solid scripting/programming knowledge in Python, Bash, PowerShell (or similar).
• Experience transitioning legacy environments to modern cloud practices.
• Strong Git and collaborative workflows.
• Intermediate proficiency with Terraform (and/or CloudFormation) and Infrastructure as Code.
• Intermediate experience building CI/CD pipelines.
• Intermediate understanding of Agile and the SDLC process.
• Experience with containerization tooling such as Docker (plus similar tools).
• Works effectively in ambiguity with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience using generative AI tools.

Nice to Have / Additional Signals

• Strong container ecosystem exposure (e.g., Podman/LXC).
• Ability to apply compliance requirements across security tooling and processes.
