Senior Platform Engineer

Role Overview

Autodesk is hiring a Senior Platform Engineer within Platform Services and Emerging Technology. You will lead the architecture and evolution of developer onboarding and enablement platforms across the Americas, Canada, and EMEA, improving developer productivity, onboarding velocity, and platform reliability.

Key Missions

• Architect and evolve developer onboarding and enablement platforms, standardizing and improving service deployment processes.
• Design and implement cloud-native automation to reduce manual effort across onboarding workflows using AI/ML and agentic AI systems.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance for developers using internal platforms, including troubleshooting complex platform and integration issues.

Responsibilities / What You’ll Do

• Operate and lead at senior technical level: mix hands-on execution with architecture ownership and technical leadership.
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams across domains to drive platform reliability and developer experience improvements (DevEx) at scale.

Requirements

• 8+ years building scalable cloud-native applications using Python and/or Node.js (or similar).
• 8+ years cloud platform experience, with AWS preferred.
• Docker and Kubernetes experience with containerized/distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, observability, and distributed system design.
• Proven troubleshooting, debugging, and incident resolution skills.
• 8+ years designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines and SDLC automation (e.g., Jenkins, CloudBees, Spinnaker).
• Infrastructure as Code / platform automation experience (e.g., Terraform, Helm, Ansible).
• Hands-on experience building and deploying production AI/ML systems.
• Experience building AI-powered developer tools and platform automation.
• Experience with AWS AI/ML services such as Bedrock (or equivalent LLM platforms).
• Experience designing agent-based workflows for automation and developer productivity.
• Experience with event-driven and microservices architectures and large-scale distributed systems in production.
• Strong background in DevOps, platform engineering, and infrastructure scalability.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and modern CI/CD practices.

Nice-to-Haves

• Operational documentation experience (e.g., runbooks, engineering guides, system design docs).
• Demonstrated track record of delivering platform-level impact and improving developer experience (DevEx) at scale.

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
